After contacting Anthony James we were delighted by the professional and courteous staff who advised us of the best way to market and present our property. With minimal effort we acted on their advice and placed it on the market. We were amazed how quickly this process was managed by them and that three different members of staff had viewed it and were able to advise clients knowledgeably. We then thought we would wait a week or two before buyers would appear, but to our amazement the company had contacted their client base to alert them to this new opportunity and within two weeks we had experienced several viewings and gained an acceptable offer. We could now easily purchase a property we had set our hearts on but did not feel it would be feasible in the time we had. We did manage our sale and purchase easily and without the major stress normally associated with moving home.

I sold my father’s bungalow in 10 days with Anthony James!

From the start of dealings with Anthony James they were thorough, realistic, efficient and sensitive (Dad had died). Everything was fully explained, their staff were always friendly and informative, and telephone calls from them were frequent in order to keep me updated with proceedings. Their website is easy to use, literature on the property was well written and photos were plentiful and meaningful. Staff were always available for viewings, and to allow builders access for assessments for the purchasers. Moreover, their rates are highly competitive!

I would certainly recommend this firm to anyone selling their property, both for advice and selling. Thank you Anthony James – it was a pleasure to work with you.

We placed our property on the market in July 2011 with the sole intention of purchasing a particular property for sale through Anthony James. We were very impressed by the professionalism of the valuer who dealt with our initial inquiry and gave the initial appraisal of our property. We also found the young lady who carried out the escorted viewings of the property we wished to purchase, to be pleasant and personable. To our delight, after a few weeks with little action, we received an offer from the third person to view our property. As the house we were hoping to buy was still fully available we put in an offer and after some skilful negotiating by the sales team we were able to proceed. Unfortunately the story does not end too well for us as on the day we received our survey report and telephoned the sales team to confirm that we wished to proceed with the purchase but were informed that the property we were at last able to buy had been withdrawn from the market. I’m sure you can imagine our disappointment. We were also the top of a significant chain and aware of the consequences to all those beneath us. We had to decide whether to go ahead and sell or withdraw our own property and cause the entire chain to collapse. We decided to sell as we couldn’t bring ourselves to let our buyer down not to mention all the others in the chain. We also knew this would put us in a good position when we did eventually find another property.

Of course our new dilemma was to find a rental property as soon as possible as we were due to complete within about 2 weeks or so. At this point we have to praise the lettings team for their fast and efficient service in finding us a suitable short term let within our required price bracket and area. All in all we have found Anthony James to be friendly, efficient and professional at all times. Although our experience of moving house has not been a particularly pleasant one, the staff at Anthony James did their best to minimise the stress element whenever possible.

Their staff understand the issues involved in property transactions and especially this one and were able deal with all of the issues expeditiously in a way that none of the other estate agents wished to do. Your service level was excellent. Heard allsorts of horror stories about how some estate agents treat people but we felt that we were treated very well and our situation was dealt with in a manner of concern and urgency when required, and the lines of communication were always open. I would recommend anybody else to use yourselves if they were to deal with a house sale.
